The Awakened State

Is it rash to worship

a marvelous lady

when cash is paid out

by the nebulous guy

who looks down from the clouds

with torturous vengeance,

appeased when you murder his child?

My altars these days

simply celebrate space.

My halter has slipped

and I can’t stay apace

just sitting with pieces

that I’ll integrate.

For though I love legends,

(I’m a story machine)

my culture has left me

feeling unclean so I

settle this whirl that

entrances my mind.

Can I be kind? Oblivious

now to the rules

unschooled ride in the loop

on its side, what used to be eight.

Inspired by a question that formed from today’s prompts: is it Rash to Worship a Marvelous Lady?
