California Bound

I’m FaceTiming Redwoods

with a roost of white egrets

barking whenever common sense

leaks out of me–word or

thought–we’re so attuned.

Like that, I tumble into

this luscious field of living

wisdom from the misery

I’d inhabited all day,

all week, all month,

all year, god all my life

in arrears — this young

dramatic place so tight

I cannot breathe.  Hope

denied, a suitable space

for gaslighting, and it begins

again until I spring up,

anew with my fierce no!

Did you just say

the fury is flaming my glorious

eyes and you can’t take

me breathless, amazed

by your brutal lies.

I’m holding that child

and we’re strong at last,

the air cool and clean.

Shoulders back, head high,

my darling, we’re outta here.

  1. Enjoy, inspire and soar!
Like none I know, you throw caution to the wind, catch the waves and reach new heights.
    Great adventure awaits
