A Matter of Time

Thus Freedom now so seldom wakes/the only throb she gives/is when some heart, indignant, breaks/to show that still she lives.~Thomas Moore.

(Wo)men, who their duties know but know their rights, and, knowing, dare maintain, prevent the long-aimed blow and crush the tyrant while they rend the chain.~Sir William Jones

Robed in the sable garb of woe/with haggard eye, the poet stood.~Thomas Gray, 1755.

How can we have faith in freedom wrapped in
lies, a quilt sewn with intent, we’re trapped in
skies chem-trailed and electrified, zapped in
every wavelength, satellites are mapped in

this unholy grid, the long-term aim seems
to be annihilation of our dreams.
Be strong, do not vacate your heart, these streams
of love trump all, the pinnacle sun beams

disruption of every nefarious
plot, we ought not despair, the various
fears and rage fuel evil: precarious
hold is lost when we embrace. Carry us

into the new earth emerging so clear
crystalline being now the truth, my dear:
we’ve ever been free, we stand now and cheer
the calendar’s been tossed, we’re finally here.
